Product Description
Description
SC9260 is the new generation of immersion sensors for measurement of oil or hydrocarbons in water based on UV fluorescence principle. When excited by a light beam at a specific wave length, some chemical substance re-emits light of a longer wave length. Since there are very limited number of chemicals such as PAH that have fluorescent characteristics, this method is able to give highly selective measurement with many times more sensitive than the conventionally used infrared scattering or absorption technology. This makes it possible to determine even the slightest traces of PAH's. SC9260 sensor that connects to a GDC enables both stationary use (shafts, flows or piping) and mobile use. An optional clamp-on wiper for automatic cleaning the optical measuring window minimizes the maintenance downtime.

Application
- Lake, reservoir, underground and river water
Hydrocarbons are dangerous pollutants that have to be detected very early on reservoir or river for producing drinking water. Fast and reliable measuring system is necessary, and the UV fluorescence is the only method matching these requirements. - Cooling water survey
The concentration of hydrocarbons in cooling water is a critical parameter on refineries. - Wastewater monitoring
The effluents of refineries and chemical plants have to stay below limits to meet the environmental regulations. A reliable and low maintenance measuring system is required and only UV fluorescence approach achieves this goal.
